Division 4/5/6 Semi-Cup Final Winners

WHO BET THE UNDEFEATED NOARLUNGA???

You guessed it, Metro United did.

On the 28th of July, Metro United Women’s Division 4 team played against the undefeated Noarlunga for the Division 4/5/6 Cup Semi-Finals at Valo Football Park Centre, Angle Park. Metro won with a close call of 2 (Metro United) 1 (Noarlunga). The girls from Metro were bouncing with excitement and joy after the great win they had accomplished.

Noarlunga were also apart of the Division 4 League and were placed first on the league ladder, with an undefeated season. Metro had lost their only game so far for the season to Noarlunga in the one of the league games. The score was 2-0 and for Metro to verse them again in the cup made the girls want to come out and put a loss to their season.

Which is what the girls did.

With Noarlunga not have lost a game they came out thinking that they had the game in the bag, but boy were they wrong with that. Metro came out with a bang and proved them completely wrong. The girls from Metro did not stop fighting until the very last whistle was blown, which sure did pay off with the ending result.

All the girls faces once that final whistle blew was such a memorable moment the joy and smiles from one ear to the other everyone was over the moon. It felt like such a relief and an accomplishment to have defeated the undefeated and made them know what a loss felt like.

Now, finals the very last round until Metro can take home the cup for good and become the Division 4/5/6 Champions for 2019. The finals will be held on the 18th of August at 11:00am at the Valo Football Park Centre, Angle Park.

Let’s cross our fingers and hope that Metro can take home the cup for 2019.

Good luck girls, go out there and enjoy yourself and no matter the outcome just be proud of yourself in doing your best and giving it your best shot.

Metro United vs Northern Demons

Besides being Fathers Day, the Metro United Division 4 Womens team went out yesterday with a bang for their last game of the season.

The girls went out on their home pitch against Northern Demons, and did not give up without a fight. There was no way the season was going to end with a loss. The result of the game ended with 3 (Metro United) to 2 (Northern Demons).

Norther Demons also did not stop without pushing and fighting the whole ninety minutes. It sure was not an easy game as Northern Demons put up a bit of a challenge in which the Metro girls conquered.

Above is a photo of the Division 4 Womens team, along with both Coach and Assistant Coach, at the end of the nail biting game.

With the girls being placed second on the league ladder, this win secured their runner up position and no team could stop that from happening.

This season has most definitely been the most memorable, with the girls winning the Women’s Division 4/5/6 Cup Final, resulting second on the ladder and being promoted from Division 4 into Division 3 for next year. This is a wonderful achievement for the girls as although same games were tough but every single one of these girls did not drop their heads or gave up for one minute during any game.

It is sad to say that the season has come to an end, because playing with every single one of these girls has been an absolute pleasure. I personal have enjoyed every moment with these girls and cannot wait for what the future has in offer for us next year.

I hope to see all these girls back at the next years trials so that we can continue to achieve and grow as a team and maybe even end up becoming the top and dangerous team to beat on the ladder.

2019 Women’s Cup Final Winners

AND THE 2019 CUP CHAMPIONS ARE….

METRO UNITED WFC!!!!!

On the Sunday the 18th of August at the Valo Football Park Centre, Angle Park. Metro United’s Division 4 team went up against a collegian team, Sacred Heart Old College, for the Division 4/5/6 Cup Finals and won, 1 (Metro United) 0 (Sacred Heart).

Coming into the finals, the Metro girls were extremely nervous and had trained very hard for the day of the finals to come along. No one knew what the result was going to look like as Sacred Heart were not an easy win they did not go down with a fight and neither did the Metro girls. With the game being a low scoring game put the Metro girls with a challenge to keep Sacred Heart from scoring a goal.

Like the semi-finals, the Metro girls came out with their heads held high and took the game extremely serious as cup finals do not come around often and is a great experience and opportunity to be apart of.

Personally, being a player who was involved in the finals game I was incredibly proud of all the girls I had playing on the pitch with me and helped win that cup. With all my years playing I have never been or even won a cup finals, so to have won was an amazing moment and will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Now, that Metro are the champions of the 2019 for the cup, they now have to focus on completing the league with only two games left until the season is complete for 2019.

Who Am I

Sick of hearing all about men’s sporting and would like to connect with other women and teenagers your age that you can communicate and bond with.

Well you have picked the right place to come to.

Metro United WFC (Women’s Football Club) is located in Pooraka, South Australia. Metro has been a women’s club since 2006 and continues to gain multiple new and old players from each age group every year.

This site in particular focuses mainly on one team, Women’s Division 4 League. In which I Sabrina Scuteri am a part of. I will be keeping this site updated on all the upcoming events, news and team profiles for the season. This is a way where women themselves can connect and be apart of a community they feel comfortable with.

Some background information about myself is that I have recently moved to Metro United WFC two years ago, with 2018 being my first year. I have played soccer for around 12 years now and have loved the game ever since I was 7 years old. I have become a massive supporter in the men’s football since I was a little girl which is where I found my love for it. Seeing the men play enjoying themselves with the crowd cheering them on, is something I knew I would love to be apart of and do.

When I first started out playing the sport it was quite difficult for girls my age to make something out of it and was unusual for others to see girls play. I first started off playing with boys with myself being the only girl on the team. I must admit I was quite intimidated by the fact I was playing which a bunch of boys that knew how to play better than I did, but to be completely honest I really enjoyed and preferred it.

Being 12 years after, women’s sporting has become such a bigger part of the world and has been more recognised by world and communities. Local suburbs and communities have started up their own women’s clubs along with the men’s as more and more females have come in contact with the sport and are finding a love for it.

This is one of the massive reasons as to why I have decided to become a blogger for my women’s club and team so that other females my age can associate themselves with the site and have a sense of similarity with their lives. Using this site also promotes the club showing how well one team has gone for the season making other females wanting to join and become a part of the Metro United WFC family, because trust me they will not regret it, as I surely haven’t. 🙂
