Having the trials being held on two nights give the players an opportunity to either come to both or just one night if one of the players is not able to make it. It is not compulsory to come out and trial both nights but it will be encouraged for you to gain a connection with the coaches and other players trialling out as well. It also gives you more of an opportunity for the coaches to see your skills and talents more so come out with a bang.

Here’s a quick list of required clothing and equipment to bring along with you to trials:

  • Existing Club kit (Top, Shorts and socks)
  • If new just come along with top and shorts of own choice
  • Shinpads
  • A Water Bottle

Once you have decided to come along to the 2020 trials for Metro United, there is one quick step you will need to complete in order to trial out, that involves registering. Below are a few instructions on how an existing or new player can register for the upcoming season.

First of all head over to the trybooking website. Make sure that on the top of the page it has written ‘2020 Metro United WFC Girls Soccer Trials’, to be sure you are on the right page and heading down the right track.

After you have found yourself looking at the same screen as is shown above, scroll down and click on the ‘BOOK NOW’ button. Once you have clicked on that button two options will show up on the screen with ‘JUNIORS – U13, U15, U17’ or ‘SENIORS – Division 1 and 3, WNPL Reserves, WNPL’, click on the one you will be trialling out for, along with the night you will be attending. As stated above you will be encouraged to ‘register for each night you will be attending’ and is ‘recommended you attend both nights’.

When you have figured out the nights and age groups you will be trialling out for multiple boxes will come up on the screen getting you to fill in some personal details, which include:

  • First Name:
  • Middle Name:
  • Last Name:
  • Age:
  • Email Address:
  • Team Trialling For:
  • Previous Club:
  • Parent/Guardian (Name, Phone Number, Email Address):
  • Parent/Guardian (Name, Phone Number, Email Address):

Once you have filled in all details shown it scroll down to the bottom and click the button that says ‘SUMBIT’, it will then lead you to a page that says ‘TRANSACTION SUCCESSFUL’ and you will receive an submission email with all details you have placed into the booking. This will mean that your bookings have successful gone through to the club to deal with.

Now, you are ready for the next step by arriving to either both or one of the nights opened for trialling. When you arrive to the trials you will need to head over to the club halls at Lindblom Park, Pooraka, which you will then go and have a chat with some of the club officials and management who will ask you for your name. This is to make sure that your name is marked off of the sheets provided. The person behind the table, helping you will write your name down on a sticker in order for you to place it on yourself, so that the coaches and players know your name and who you are. Once you have gotten your name marked off head over to where you will be trialling out, if not sure be sure to ask one of the club officials and they will guide you to where you need to be. All is left to do now is trial.

Some quick tips of trials from a player that has trialled out for Metro United club multiple times include:

  • Go out there and try your best
  • Show off your talents, skills and what you do best
  • Make sure to introduce who you are to the coaching staff
  • Don’t be afraid to speak up if confused about certain drill or warm up
  • Make friends while you are there cause those girls may be who you will be playing with in the 2020 season
  • Most importantly HAVE FUN!!

After both nights of trials have been completed the coaches will go into the hall and have a very long meeting about who will or will not be invited back to be a part of the 2020 season. An email will then be sent out a few days later with either a thank you for attending or congratulations with instructions you will need to follow.

Good luck girls, go out there and enjoy yourself and no matter the outcome just be proud of yourself in doing your best and giving it your best shot.
